Rick's favorite subjects include landscapes & maritime scenes of the area, & depictions of the fishing & farming heritage of rural Nova Scotia.  He worked in the private sector for many years as a draftsman, & received his  training at the Dundas School of Art, the University of  Waterloo & through close work with many other gifted & celebrated painters.  He has been the recipient of many awards & grants & has held  numerous solo & group shows.  His paintings are part of collections around the world. Rick lives & paints in Annapolis Royal, Nova Scotia, where he & his wife Caroline operate Westside Studio; a gallery, gift & framing shop.
